Massage Therapy

At Baseline Chiropractic and Wellness Centre, we offer many types of massage; Therapeutic, Relaxation, Prenatal, and lymphatic drainage.

Massage Therapy is a technique used by therapists to help manipulate superficial and deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue by using many different methods.

Massage therapy helps to promote good blood circulation within the body. This allows the body to reduce tension and provide healing.

Massage Therapy helps with: Headaches, stress, soft tissue related injuries, muscle spasms, stiffness, increase range of motion, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, arthritis, and much more.

Therapeutic Massage (also know as Deep Tissue): to relieve tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. During your massage treatment, the focus is on the affected areas of the patient, applying deeper pressure and using different techniques to help repair the muscle to a healing path. This type of massage is good for people who have had physical injuries, who play sports or have constant pain.

Relaxation Massage: general relaxation massage is designed to help your body relax during your session. Therapists use lighter pressure over your body and help calm your nervous system. A lot of patients fall asleep during this type of massage. This massage is also beneficial as it helps with blood circulation and helps flush any waste in the body.
Prenatal Massage: this is a wonderful massage to have during your pregnancy. Pregnancy massage is best to have in your second trimester or your third trimester as there are less complications likely to occur. This type of massage is basically the same as either a therapeutic or relaxation massage. Overall this type of massage is to help relax, ease sore muscles and to just make you feel good. The therapist will adjust their techniques accordingly to the patients needs and is altered a bit due to the pregnant body.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage: is a gentle massage which the therapist uses many different techniques such as, tapping , stroking, or pushing skin in the direction of the lymph nodes which helps to drain the waste to the proper channels. The lymphatic system acts as a recycling system which helps cleanse our body from toxins, bacteria and excess water helping the body to not spread infections. The lymphatic system can occasionally get blocked by fluids, this where this type of massage comes into hand.

We offer 30 minute massage for children, 45, 60, or 90 minutes for adults.
